An AI running coach for your Intervals.icu data

Rutz is an AI running coach app that signs in with Intervals.icu. Connect your watch to Intervals.icu once, and Rutz reads every run, writes your plan one week at a time and reviews each session.

What is Intervals.icu?

Intervals.icu is an independent training-analysis platform used by runners, cyclists and triathletes. It collects activities from most watch and bike-computer brands and gives you detailed charts of fitness, fatigue and performance.

It is superb at showing you data. It does not tell you what to run tomorrow. That is the gap Rutz fills: the same data, turned into a weekly plan and a coach's read on every run.

Why this way

One sign-in. Every run.

One connection, every watch

Intervals.icu already talks to almost every device brand. Rutz talks to Intervals.icu, so any device that syncs there reaches your coach — you never wait for us to add your watch.

You stay in control

Access is granted through Intervals.icu's own sign-in screen, and you can revoke it there at any time. Rutz never sees your watch account password.

Your history, from day one

Your first week is written from the training you've already done — not from a questionnaire.

Rutz and Intervals.icu: your questions

Is there an AI coach for Intervals.icu?

Yes. Rutz is an AI running coach that signs in with Intervals.icu, reads your activities from it, writes your running plan one week at a time and reviews every run. It is an independent iPhone app in private beta, not an official Intervals.icu product.

Do I need an Intervals.icu account to use Rutz?

Yes. Sign in with Intervals.icu is how you log in to Rutz and how your run data reaches your coach. Creating an account is free.

Does Rutz connect directly to Garmin?

No. Rutz connects to Intervals.icu, and Intervals.icu connects to Garmin. Link your Garmin account inside Intervals.icu once, and every run reaches Rutz automatically. The same applies to COROS, Suunto, Polar, Wahoo and Zwift.

Can I use Rutz with Strava?

Not through Strava alone. Strava's terms don't allow Intervals.icu to pass Strava-sourced activities on to other apps. Connect your watch brand directly to Intervals.icu instead — it takes a minute and the data is richer.

Does Rutz work with Apple Watch?

Today your Apple Watch runs reach Rutz the same way as any other device — through Intervals.icu, which needs a third-party sync app. Direct Apple Watch support is in progress.

What data does Rutz read from Intervals.icu?

Your runs — distance, time, pace, heart rate, elevation and per-second streams where available — plus basic athlete settings such as heart rate zones. Rutz coaches running today, so running is what it reads. See the privacy policy for the full detail.

Is Rutz affiliated with Intervals.icu?

No. Rutz is an independent app that uses the Intervals.icu API with each athlete's permission.
